As promised, we have rolled out the change to use Skype for Business desktop app on Mac as our web-downloadable meetings client instead of Skype Meetings App (SMA)! The change applies to meetings that are hosted on Skype for Business Online or on Skype for Business Server 2015 that is configured to use the Microsoft Content Delivery Network (CDN). I love this new version of Skype Preview. Operating system: Mac OS Mojave 10.14.2. Skype on Web gets HD video calls, recording and improved notifications. The new features are available to users on Windows 10 and Mac OS X. With this update, Skype users on the Web now have access to the Chat. Skype doesn't appear as an option when trying to grant camera and microphone permissions in Mac Mojave OS settings. Run these two commands to fix the problem: tccutil reset Microphone com.skype.skype; tccutil reset Camera com.skype.skype; When signing out of Skype for Linux, the app forgets my credentials when I didn't select that option. Download Skype for Business on Mac from Microsoft and install it. Once installed, links to join a meeting will open in the native application without needing to install any web plug-ins. The Skype for Business Web App doesn't seem to work on macOS Catalina.

Consider the following scenario.
You join an online meeting by using the Skype for Business Web App or Lync Web App on macOS High Sierra 10.13 (including beta versions).
Someone in the online meeting shares their desktop.
In this scenario, you see only a black screen instead of the shared desktop.
This problem occurs when the meeting is hosted in Skype for Business Server 2015 or Lync Server 2013. This problem doesn't occur if the meeting is hosted in Skype for Business Online.
Workaround
Skype for Business Web App
To work around this issue for Skype for Business Web App, use the Skype Meetings App instead. To do this, the system administrator must follow these steps:
Install the May 2017 update for Skype for Business Server 2015.
Enable the Skype Meetings App by following the instructions in the 'Enable Skype Meetings App' section of Deploy Web downloadable clients in Skype for Business Server 2015.
After these steps are done, web app users will automatically use the Skype Meetings App when they join a meeting.
Lync Web App
There is no workaround yet for this problem for Lync Web App.

Microsoft is working closely with Apple to resolve this problem.

This issue can also occur when the camera isn't granted access permission to Skype for Business.
Select Apple menu > System Preferences, select Security & Privacy, and then Privacy.
Grant Skype for Business access to the camera. You will be prompted to restart Skype for Business.
Check if the issue is resolved after the restart.

Hi Eric! Thank you for taking the time to jump in here. One thing I did not mention was that other browsers are allowing me to launch the Skype for Business Web App, but the problem I run into then is that I get a blank screen when someone is sharing their desktop, and there is also no audio, causing me to have to dial into the actual call as well. I did confirm this with Opera, Firefox and Chrome and will check with SeaMonkey and Waterfox as well, but have a low confidence level at this point.
